3-5 Poetry Contest

1. You must turn in a completed entry form with your writing (attached by a paper clip). Be sure to fill in ALL information.
2. You may only submit ONE poem.
3. Entries must be the student's ORIGINAL WORK (this includes all edits and revisions.) Dictated stories cannot be accepted.
4. Typed entries are preferred but handwritten is accepted. Do not bind, make a cover for, laminate, or otherwise alter the original paper on which the entry is written.
5. No more than 20 lines. No shape poems or blackout.
6. Once received by the Media Center, the original work will NOT be returned. Please keep a copy before you submit the work.

Entries that do not follow the guidelines above will not be submitted in the National Student Poetry Contest!

• 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded a cash prize and certificate of achievement.
• One poem declared "Editor's Choice" will win $500 grand prize.
• 12 Participation prizes (random drawing) will be drawn from all entries. these prizes include a laptop, tablet, or wireless headphones, after-school shopping spree, 1 of 10 twenty-five dollar Amazon gift cards.

Completed in writing due to the Media Center no later than Friday, April 18, 2025. All entries must be turned in with a completed entry form. Late entries and/or entry forms will NOT be accepted.
